Xandrox 5% night-time solution

Original Purpose or Use:

Minoxidil: Vasodilator -- used for high blood pressure.
Azaleic Acid: Acne treatment.

FDA Approved?

The ingredients are FDA approved. Xandrox itself is not.

Scientific Results:

While I am not aware of any studies pertaining specifically to Xandrox. There are quite a few studies on the active ingredients.

Observed Results:

Moderate regrowth in vertex/crown, hairline, and temple areas

Notes:

Combines minoxidil 5%, azaleic acid 5%, and Retin-A (tretinoin) 0.025% in one solution. The azaleic acid is purported to be a potent DHT inhibitor. The Retin-A acts as an absorption enhancer and has been shown to have hair regrowth stimulating properties of its own.

Side Effects:

The night-time Xandrox can cause relatively more irritation than the day-time solution. This is because of the Retin-A which causes a chemical peel of the skin. It can cause flaking and dandruff as well. The night-time formula should not be used during the day because Retin-A causes increased sensitivity to the sun, resulting in sunburns.
