Linoleic Acid (LA)

This is an essential long-chain unsaturated fatty acid found naturally in many foods.

Several studies show that unsaturated fatty acids act as DHT inhibitors and anti-androgens

Notes:

LA is found in many "natural" foods. A good source of fatty acids is flax oil, when taken internally. It is also available from various chemical companies in a 90% pure form. Many hairloss related products include this and other fatty acids in their ingredients. LA is not as potent as GLA (gamma-linoleic acid) but is much cheaper.

How to get it:

It is difficult to get LA for the average individual consumer. Most chemical companies will not sell it to you directly unless you have a commercial account with them. One company that sells it is TCI America.
