Green Tea Catechins

Green Tea leaves were soaked in hot water and served as a beverage.

Scientific Results:

A study shows that the green tea catechins, epigallocatechin-3-gallate and epicatechin-3-gallate are potent inhibitors of Type 1 5-alpha-reductase (the enzyme that binds with testosterone to form DHT).

Observed Results:

None

Notes:

Green Tea has been used by various Asian cultures for centuries and is a very safe natural herbal tea. Aside from having DHT inhibiting properties, it has also been shown in studies to have cancer fighting properties. I am aware of some hair loss sufferers that have made their own topical solutions containing green tea. I personally drink it on occasion (love to have it whenever I have sushi!)

Side Effects:

Green Tea contains caffiene, so the side-effects are similar to those of caffiene.
