Fluridil
Original Purpose or Use:Originally marketed as a cosmetic product in the Czech Republic. FDA Approved? No Scientific Results:One study shows that Fluridil, when used topically, is effective at increasing the percentage of hairs in anagen (growth) phase from an average of 76% to 85% after 3 months, and 87% after 9 months. It was well tolerated, did not appear to absorb systemically, and did not have adverse sexual side-effects. Observed Results:Unknown Notes:This is a relatively new drug, originally introduced as a cosmetic product in the Czech Republic. Fluridil apparantly addresses the hair loss problem differently from drugs like finasteride (DHT inhibitor) and spironolactone (anti-androgen). By preventing the formation of androgen receptors on the follices themselves, this may offer a complementary treatment modality to existing drugs. Side Effects:None observed. Editor's Rating:Not yet rated Gender:Both Approximate Price: Unknown How to get it:Unknown
