Donor area
Hi Dr B -
I have already had 3 strip procedures with pretty good results. On the other hand - my scar in the donor area periodically itches and I can feel the ridge along the scar line even after 3 years the last surgery
I am planning to have another one. I am scared though the scar left on subsequent surgeries will be deeper with even more detriment. Any thoughts on what the limit is on this........thanks
Kirk, Everyone's scalp responds differently with each subsequent procedure. Good post-op care is very helpful in making sure you get the best cosmetic result from the procedure. New techniques, like the 'trichophytic closure' enable hair to grow directly through the scar--giving excellent camouflage. This technique can be used on new harvests as well as scar revision procedures to get the best results in the donor area.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
