Eyebrow Loss
I have been told I have androgenetic alopecia and as a result have almost no eyebrows. I have two little patches above my eyes and some random hairs where my eyebrows are supposed to be. Is there anything I can do to make my eyebrows gro back? I can't take drawing them on anymore!
Jackie,
Androgenetic Alopecia is hereditary female pattern hair loss, and does NOT typically result in eyebrow loss. However, the good news is that you might be a good candidate for eyebrow transplantation. Eyebrow transplants can restore living and growing hair to the eyebrow area. Taken from the back of the scalp, follicles are implanted carefully into the eyebrow using a comfortable procedure. The result is permanent, living and growing brows. Keep in mind that the transplanted eyebrows will need to be trimmed routinely, as they grow longer than the normal brow hair. If they eyebrow loss is severe, sometimes two separate sessions of eyebrow transplantation are needed to achieve the final result. If you want to find out if you are a candidate for the eyebrow transplant procedure, or see some before and after photos of the eyebrow transplant results, visit my website at www.baumanmedical.com. There are photos and information there, as well as a 'consultation request' form. Let me know what questions you have, I look forward to helping you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bauman
