Hair resting stage
Hi Doctor
I had a question about temporary hair loss, that caused by medication. I believe my hair loss was caused by some heart medication I\\\'m taking. Because I\\\'m losing hair all over my head and not just in one spot. this has been going on for about 5 months now. I haven\\\'t seen much regrowth yet.
I was wondering, when hair falls out like this from medication does the hair follical sit in a resting stage for a while before starting to grow again?
If it does, how long does it take to come out of this stage and to actually see new hair growth.
What is the heart medication that you have been taking?
If you continue to take the medication, you will continue to experience hair loss if the medication is the cause of the hair loss. This process may take 6-12 months for it to resolve and is called Telogen Effluvium.
