15% minoxidil effectiveness

	Question

Over the past year I have noticed that 15% minoxidil can be obtained through multiple doctors. Do you feel that 15% minoxidil is significantly more effective that 5& minoxidil? Thanks

	Answer

I have used 10% minoxidil in my practice, but not 15%. I think there is a limit to how much can be absorbed and how much benefit someone can see with minoxidil. The 5% was slightly more effective than the 2%, but I doubt that the 15% will provide much more benefit. I think it would be a better idea to add a different type of therapy (like Propecia or laser therapy) instead of trying to increase the % of minoxidil. --Dr. B.
