Can propecia be prescribed by the family doctor or does it have to be a specialized doctor and if so which?

	Answer

Any doctor can prescribe propecia. However, evaluating the effectiveness of the medication requries a hair loss specialist. Many patients who are not seeing hair loss specialists tend to go off the medication because the don't realize how effective it is. It is kind of like going to the gym to lose weight but not stepping on the scale before you start your new exercise regimen.
