Tretinoin

What is your opinion of using tretinoin in topical applications of minoxidil? Does this extra ingedient do anything that would be a benefit or just waste of money! Thanks

Answer

Tretinoin is not likely to significantly enhance the penetration of minoxidil, especially considering we have the 5% available today. Perhaps years ago, when only the 2% was available, Retin-A was more of a benefit. I cannot remember the last time I prescribed minox/retin-a combo. Are you using Propecia or Laser Therapy?
