Why was I denied by my local surgeon?
Dr.,
I'm 29.In the last 4 years I've been noticeably regressing in the frontal and temples. I've lost an inch on each side of the frontal and a half inch near the temples. Six months ago my local, "well-known" surgeon advised against surgery claiming I could lose more hair during the surgery process. He also said I had alot of hair and was a "gorilla". He prescribed propecia. My line is getting worse. Can I have surgery even though I'm not a severe case, because it's severe to me?
In my practice, I consult with patients regarding realistic expectations when it comes to hair restoration/hair transplant procedures. If you clearly understand what can and cannot be done, we can move forward. If you can send photos of your hair loss status, this would be very helpful. Many times, we treat patients with 'preventative' measures BEFORE the hair loss is extremely noticeable.
I look forward to helping you.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
