Best minoxidil

Can you recommend a alcohol free minoxidil. I cant find a reputable one out there.... Any source would be appreciated and cost. Thanks and safe 2006! Take care Dr. B

Kevin, I routinely prescribe a propylene-glycol free minoxidil to our patients. It is much more well-tolerated than the over-the-counter minoxidil (rogaine or generic) formulation. There is much less chance of irritation, dryness, redness, etc. However, it is a prescription item. You would need to have a medical evaluation here at my clinic for me to prescribe the "PG-free" minoxidil to you. Any doctor that prescribes medication without seeing you in-person is doing something that is illegal (as well as unethical). Probably the main reason people get frustrated with hair loss (and hair restoration treatments) is the fact that they don't receive the proper treatment plan or follow-through by a knowledgeable hair loss physician.
