african american hair transplant
do you have experience with transplants for african americans, and does it differ from the transplants with caucasians?
Hair transplantation for African Americans and other ethinic groups is just as successful as with caucasians. African American hair (dark, kinky curly, etc.) makes for a more challenging harvesting and dissection of the follicles, but the curly transplanted hair gives a great deal of coverage of the scalp when it grows in. The only issue would be a slightly higher incidence of keloid-type scars in African American patients. Generally, you would know if you had a healing problem...
In my practice, I perform a good number of ethnic hair transplant/ethnic hair restoration procedures. If you would like to see some photos of ethinc hair transplant results, just email me at doctorb@baumanmedical.com
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
