eyelash loss
I have been diagnosed with Blepharitis and now I have a Chalazia under my eylid. I have had this problem for 9 years and no one knew what was wrong. Throughout the years I picked at my eyelashes because they were sore. It has been 2 months and they have not grown back. Will they?? Is there something that will make eyelashes grow back?? If so what?? I don't want to walk around with no eyelashes . Please help...
There is a still a chance that if the inflammation subsides for long enough, the lashes will grow back. Eyelash transplantation is a viable method of restoring new follicles to the lid, HOWEVER, if you have a history of blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid), we would not want to 'stress out' your lids with a transplant procedure. Give yourself time to let the inflammation resolve (6mos+) then, if the lashes have not regrown, we can see if you would be a candidate for eyelash transplantation.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
