Itchy scalp
I\'m a 23yr old black male that have been suffering from an itchy scalp flesh colored bumps and hair thinning. It all started when i went to school instead of staying in dorms we had to stay in a hotel room. After a couple months my scalp started itching really bad and the only way to soothe it was scracthing it for five minutes or more. One day I notice a lot of fleash colored bumps and hair thinning around my swirl towards the end of my scalp.Nobody in my family is bald.So when I came home a doctor gave my oral ringworm medication which help with the bumps itching and thinnig.Once I stop using them they everything came back a few months later.Maybe it was because I still was in the same room. After school was over I grew my hair out and the itching stop my hair was thin in my swirl then began to get thick like the rest of my hair once it grew longer but sometime the I would get tiny bumps in my swirl not a lot but a few.I cut my hair and again it started to itch and everything went back the same way again so I grew my hair out again. This time I keep my hair for almost to years and had braids my had rarely itched at all iI had a few bumps but not like before my hair became thick again in my swirl.It\'s been a year now since I\'ve cut my hair and my scalp itches almost the same way it did while I was in school I haven\'t went to a doctor since I just wanted to know what type of condition this is and can I go bald from having an itchy scalp? My hair is only thin in one spot of my scalp were my swirl is and nobody in my family is bald.
Hello Vinney,
It sounds like you are being reinfected with ringworm or have seborrhea. If you get these under control they will not cause hair loss,
