itchy scalp
Dear Dr. Khadavi,
my hair loss problem started more than a year ago. After several months itchiness and reddness of the scalp appeared too. Dermatologist prescribed Thymuskin shampoo and Alpicort F lotion (contains prednisolone and estrogen). That just enhanced itchiness but didn\'t stop hairloss. So I stopped using that products and washed my hair with very mild shampoo for sensitive scalp (Elution). But everything was the same... itchy and red scalp and further hair loss. All my blood tests are OK (iron, hormones etc), I don\'t have oily skin, dandruff, problems with ovaries, or anything similar. I started taking Yasmin BCP 2 months ago. No changes.
Please if you can help me I\'d be so grateful.
I live in Croatia (Europe) so cannot buy most of the products for hair that I found on the Internet, but I can order them by e-mail. Do you think Revivogen could help me solve my problem? Can it also (like Thymuskin) enhance the itchiness?
Thank you very much for your answer.
Dear Maya,
Itchiness and redness are signs of dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. I would discontinue Thymuskin and Alpicort. Start using Clobetasol Scalp Solution twice daily along with Nizoral and T-Gel Neutrogena Shampoo every other day.
