Propecia Dose
I hear of many people taking 1/4 or 1/2 of a Propecia ( 0.25- 0.50 mg) based upon a study by Merck showing all the doses lower DHT about the same level in both serum & scalp...also thought that it might lessen the chance for hyperadrogenic response at lower doses. What is you opinion ?
Thank you
NOT A GOOD IDEA.
I only recommend 1mg propecia. That is the most effective dose for hair loss that has the least amount of side effects. True, lower dosages lower the DHT; HOWEVER they DO NOT have the same HAIR GROWTH effects. So what if your DHT is low, but you still have hair loss? Stick with the rigorous dosing studies that show that 1mg is the optimal dose for hair loss.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
