Minoxidil
I've used Minoxidil for diffuse thinning about 1 year.My hair is now dry and thinner diameter.I've had irritation all along from either the alcohol or PPG .Have you seen this damage the follicle and any problem if I just stop using it since I did not have any bald spots ?
Thank you
Matt,
If you are having a scalp irritation (redness, itching, flaky or scaly skin, dryness, burning, etc.) from the minoxidil, I would typically prescribe a propylene-glycol free version of the minoxidil for you.
We do this routinely.
Minoxidil tends to stimulate follicles, not damage them. If you can send photos of your hair loss, I can be more specific regarding my recommendations. I recommend submitting a request for a "virtual consultation" through my website www.baumanmedical.com and emailing me photos at doctorb@baumanmedical.com
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
