Hair loss and hypothyroidism

Question

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Very high TSH, very low T3 and T4. My hair line is been receding for the past 10 yrs. My outer eyebrows are sparse. Is there a chance that after reaching optimum thyroid levels, I can regrow the hairline and eyebrows?

Answer

Dear Jaime, You have a chance to regrow most of these hairs, but you need to control the thyroid well before you will have any regrowth.
