hair shedding
Have been shedding my hair for about five years now and have asked my doctors what may cause it and I am told its normal. Bloodwork is normal, but by now my hair thinning is very noticeable since I started with very thick hair. Tend to lose a lot after washing my hair. Have been using Nioxin shampoo for a long time now and doesn't help with the loss. Have been on premarin 1.25 and provera 5mg for about 7 yrs. Could this cause my hair loss? If not, would a scalp biopsy help to diagnose before starting any other treatment? Thanks for your help.
Do you have hair loss in your family?
Are you using minoxidil already?
Nioxin is a shampoo, not a treatment for hair loss.
Some shedding is normal, but thinning in the scalp is not. Do you have more scalp shining through in certain areas?
