Starting early
Dr. Bauman, I'm 29 years old and have just noticed my hair starting to thin ever so slightly. I'm thinking about a small hair transplant. I would rather do a little every 5-10 years rather than doing one big transplant when I'm like 55. The thinning is in the temporal areas(very little). There is also one spot about an inch from the center of my forehead. In other words, instead of my hairline going straight across, there's a little bit of an upword curve in this one spot. This spot may be my natural hairline, and I might just be noticing it because of the recent thinning. This is the spot where I would like to start. Anyhow, is this a good idea to start this early? Thanks in advance.
Smaller sized sessions are certainly possible, especially if you are on a treatment (like propecia) which stops the progression of hair loss. Most people, however, if they are having a procedure, want to get the most amount of work done that is safely possible during that session.
Let me know what questions you have regarding a procedure. If you would like a full consultation, I recommend visiting www.baumanmedical.com and click 'virtual consultation' on the home page drop-down menu.
Photos are also quite helpful.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
