21 with thinning hair - minoxidil usage
I have noticed that my front hair line is beginning to thin out and is starting to recede. I am only 21 so it is a big concern. I purchased 5% Minoxidil but have not began using it. I would like to learn a little more before starting. For example, I am very busy and applying it two times a day does not seem feasible because of the timetable for using gel, washing, etc. after usage. I was wondering if I would see results using it nightly before I go to bed? Also, I have heard it does not work for the front hairline. So, what are the chances of me seeing results with once a day usage on the front of my scalp?
Thanks,
Shawn Fluharty
Shawn,
Propecia is really the preferred medication to slow or stop the male pattern process. Minoxidil may be added to the regimen if you like. Neither medication works wonders on the front hairline, because usually the hair loss is more severe there. Restoration of the frontal hair line typically requires hair transplantation. Minoxdil needs to be applied twice a day in order to be fully effective.
