My son is 17 yrs. old his father is very balding at 48 which started in highschool for him. We feel he is loosing his hair. He has a spot on the back of his head and thinning hair on the crown. What type of DR. would we see. Do you believe a nutitionist can help, I am into natural remedies and lifestyle. May Bloodwork show vitamin or mineral deficiancies that would hinder or help hair growth? thanks so much Gina
I would recommend visiting a full-time hair restoration physician. Genetic male pattern hair loss at his age is best treated with Propecia (a safe and effective prescription pill). Bloodwork, unless he has a medical problem, is unlilkely to be of benefit. Diagnois over the internet is difficult, but if you can send me a photo, I can begin to help you with an adequate treatment plan.
