hair thinning on sides

My hair is thinning on the sides, one side in particular. My brother who is bald also has this same pattern on the sides of his head. Any ideas?

Answer

If the condition is genetic, it is best treated with a combination of therapies to stop the progression of the loss and restore hair into that area. Typically, we use a combination of medication (like Propecia) and a procedure (hair transplantation) in order to help you reach your goal. Can you send me some photos of this thinning area?
