I am 17 and i have a scalp problem.
Hi I am 17 years old and havnt experienced any hair loss, but i have a weird scalp disorder. I have had this for a year now. At first i thought it was just normal flaking problem, but am now convinced it isnt. I have a lot of oily flakes on my scalp and they dont want to seem to go away. It isnt as bad as it started out when i would get lots of white oily flaky stuff between my finger nail by just simply scratching. However it is still present. I have also noticed, not always, but sometimes that my hair that comes out while combing would have white stuff stuck to the root. I am guessing it might be seborrheic dermatitis.
If it is indeed seborrheic dermatitis can this cause hair loss? I have read that when a hair has build up stuck to the root it can cause hair loss.
Dear David,
This may represent Seborrheic Dermatitis and should be controlled with shampoos initially. You should alternate between Nizoral Shampoo and Head and Shoulders Extra-Strength Shampoo.
