saw palmetto
I have been using saw palmetto for about a year now. I haven't noticed any changes in hair growth, I have actually instead noticed more areas of thinning. I'm wondering if there is any chances that if you inhibit DHT in regards to causing a hormonal inbalance that there is a chance of actually losing more hair? I would also like to know if there is a way to tell the difference between whether or not a hair follicle is a baby hair that is actually growing or a hair that is shrinking due to thinning.
[Is there any chance at all that saw palmetto could cause hair loss?]
Dear Jordan,
Saw Palmetto can effect hair growth when taken orally. But the levels of intake need to be 10X the recommended levels to have a good effect on hair loss. If high enough levels are taken, you should notice reversing of the hair loss process with baby hairs, minituarized hairs becoming thicker terminal hairs.
