hair loss
Dear Dr Alan J. Bauman,
I have received radiation therapy to my head for cancer treatment. My hair loss on the scalp around the area being treated is permanent and i was wondering if there is a therapy that i could receive or any other way for my hair to be restored or maybe fake hair to be attached on my scalp?Looking forward to your reply.
Yours faithfully,
Sofia Kaplanoglou
If the radiation treatment is completed and hair has not returned to the area and the area is not too large, transplantation is a viable option. I would need to see photos to tell if the 'supply and demand' was adequate for restoration.
Hair transplantation can restore your own living and growing hair to the bald area using your own existing follicles from a 'good' area of scalp.
Let me know if you want more info about this option.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
