Hair loss
I am a 36 Year old female. I started to lose my hair 3 years ago. I was on BC for over 11 years. When I stop taking it I started to lose my hair and fast. I have seen several doctors whom all have told me that I have male pattern baldness. There is NO hair loss in my family. Both parents still have a full head of hair and they are in their 60's. All my brothers are fine as well. Each doctor tells me that I have to use Rogaine if I want my hair to improve. I refuse to believe that my hair loss is heredity. One doctor told me that I do not have TE because my scalp would be red or inflamed. I have had my iron tested, hormone levels, and thyroid and serium ferritin levels tested. All came back normal. I still feel it is a problem that just has not been found yet. I was on eye drops for over 8 years for shingles, could that have something to do with it? My scalp is sensitive and the hairs just do not want to grow back. I am devastated. Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
With the irritation that you experiencing it appears that there is more than female pattern hair loss involved. I would recommend that a scalp biopsy be performed to better assess what is causing your hair loss before you embark on any treatment.
