dear Dr.Khadavi,I'm an Iranian . I live in Tehran .I have a question about my husband problem . My husband is 38 years old he suffers from hair loss about more than 10 years and through these years he has used Minoxidil ,but he hasn't got any result . Male pattern hair loss is due to the hormone DHT (Dihydrotestostrone). Rogaine keeps the hair follicles in the growth phase artificially but it does not provide any protection against DHT. Rogaine is no longer prescribed to men by itself and it is usually a secondary treatment to enhance the result of the main anti-DHT treatments. Your husband must start using Propecia which is available by prescription only or Revivogen which is a natural product. He can use Rogaine along these products but is not necessary.
