hairmax laser comb

What is your opinion of low level laser therapy for hair loss treatment? I have ordered the hairmax laser comb but I am a little nervous about using it.

	Answer

Laser treatment is safe and effective. There are no documented side-effects with laser therapy over the past 30 years. You must be disciplined about using the comb however--15 minutes 2 or 3 times/wk for months. Also, many patients who try hair restoration treatments on their own have a hard time judging the results themselves. I always suggest having a consultation with a hair restoration physician who can document your hair density and hair caliber with a video microscope. That way you can stay encouraged while the treatment continues. Have you consulted with a physician who speciailizes in hair loss? Despite what the manufacturer says, it typically takes about 6 months to notice changes visible to the naked eye with laser therapy. Also, you should know that a multi-therapy approach tends to work best--layering different effective treatments medical, non-medical and even surgical treatments may yield the best result when it comes to hair restoration.
