hair loss in 11 yr old
my 11 yr old son is lossing his hair from the bottom of his skull up. There looks to be no hair focciles where the hair was fallen out. No one is my family has ever had this problem or heard of it. can you please give me some ideas on what can cause this and what I should do about it.
Hello,
First, I suggest that you immediately visit a dermatologist to evaluate the the problem. Because your son is 11 years old, the hairloss you are reporting may need special attention and may or may not fall within normal hairloss categories which are more typical of adults. You can also ask the dermatologist if there may be environmental or psychological factors which may exacerbate the problem. In many cases juvenile hairloss can be handled if it is not ignored and professional help is sought.
