Musings and rants on hair loss by the editor of Morphollica.com

2 months post-op

Posted on Sunday 11 June 2006

I have officially passed the second month mark, after my hair transplant at Hasson and Wong with Dr. Jerry Wong.   At this stage of the game, my hair is still worse off than prior to the hair transplant.  I had 3153 grafts of mostly 1 and 2 hairs transplanted in the frontal third of my scalp, and in the crown.   After about the first month following the surgery, I shed most of those hair–almost all in fact.

By now, some of the transplants have started to grow back, but I estimate only about 10% of them.  Also, due to the fact that I had hair transplanted between existing hair, I have had some shock loss of the existing hair, so in fact at this time my hair looks thinner than it has ever looked before.

I’ll post my month 2 pics in the next few days.

I am not alarmed at all at this point  because it is still way too early to tell what the final result will be.  I fully expect that it will turn out great.

It’s still just a waiting game.
