Musings and rants on hair loss by the editor of Morphollica.com

Shedding increased today (Day 16 post-op)

Posted on Thursday 27 April 2006

I was washing my hair today and lo-and-behold I looked at my hands and there were about 100 hairs in them.  They were definitely transplanted hairs.

For those that don’t know, this is perfectly normal.  The vast majority of people shed all of the transplanted hair at some point a few days to a few weeks after the hair transplant.  These start growing back in from about the 2nd month on average, and only really get to their full thickness and density by about a year or so after the transplant.

Still, I can’t help but wish I was one of the lucky few that didn’t have the sheds.

Oh well.  Can’t complain though.  I am certain the HT is going to look great.  Even with the lost hair, the density is looking really good under normal lighting conditions.
