I have been using Xandrox 15 now for just about 6 months (5 and a half to be exact), and I can say that for me it has been the one most effective product I have ever used to combat my hair loss. It has not worked any miracles by any stretch of the imagination, but it has been effective, particularly on my temples. I have had some minor regrowth along the hair line in the form of many tiny, unpigmented hairs and what looks like a general thickening of the hair on the top of my head, but the temples have seen some pretty good regrowth!
This is a strange area to see success if you ask me, but I’m not complaining because it looks good. The hair that has regrown here is still unpigmented, but getting longer by the week. Some of the hair is at least a centimetre long! This is a big deal when it comes to regrowth, believe me. I would be happy to just keep what hair I still have. I typically don’t expect any regrowth so I’ll take what I can get. I am confident that the next time these hairs go into telogen (resting phase after having completed a growth phase), and then start growing again, they will be thicker, and grow longer.
I recently bought a digital camera, not top of the line, but pretty decent. In fact I’ve taken some pretty nice shots of Vancouver, BC with them so far. To take a look at them, just follow the links at the end of this rant. The camera is a Canon Powershot A80. It can take 4 megapixel shots, more than enough for printing decent photos. I could have purchased a 5 megapixel camera for about the same price, but the A80 had a lot of cool manual controls, and since I’m new to photography and want to learn more about it, I thought it would be a good camera to learn with. Here is a review of the camera for those of you that are interested. Overall a great value — but I digress…
Back to hair loss, the reason why you bothered to read this rant in the first place. Some of you may have looked at my photos taken a couple of years ago when I was on an entirely different hair loss regimen. I had a fair degree of success while I was on the regimen, but I found it difficult to maintain. My current regimen (the main two products of which are Xandrox 15 and Revivogen) is much easier for me to maintain, so I have had little trouble with it, and have been consistent with it. This ease of maintenance and ability to stay consistent is CRITICAL for a hair loss regimen to work. If it’s too hard to apply, you will eventually stop. I have written about this in the past — but I digress again… The point I am trying to get to is that I will try to capture the new regrowth of hair that I have had in the past 5 months with the digital camera. You can take some pretty close up shots with it, and in the right light, the regrowth is visible. I will also start taking shots of the hair line and crown again to keep track of the regimen, and over the next couple of years this will be useful in ascertaining how well a consistent regimen will work to regrow lost hair over a long time. Unfortunately, because I was unable to stay consistent with my PREVIOUS regimen of a couple of years ago, I lost much of what I had gained in the crown area. About six months ago I had a 2.5 inch in diameter bald spot! Now the bald spot is about 20% covered again with regrown hair. I’ll post the new pics soon.
Anyway, the message I want you to take away from today’s rant is this:
Keep your regimen SIMPLE
Stay CONSISTENT in applying your regimen
Simplicity, and Consistency (on a good regimen) leads to RESULTS.
