If you do a search on Google for the term ‘hair loss’, it is amazing how many pages are returned in the results. Morphollica.com, to-date anyway, does not even show up yet. With time, and as the content for the site grows, I am sure that Morphollica.com will eventually be listed in the search results for ‘hair loss’. For now though, you must have found this site through some other means. Either you used a different search phrase, or you followed a link here. In either case, I would like to extend to you a big THANKS! I have been working on this site on and off now for about a year and a half, and in the last month I have dedicated a lot of time to making the site more useful. I have a long way to go before I am happy with it.
When I first started the site, it was meant to catalogue and showcase the results I was getting from my treatment regimen for hair loss. I soon realized a few things: first, I enjoyed working on the site, and second, a lot of people expressed gratitude for the information that I placed in it. I got very excited about the site. It became a pet project of mine. And so it has sort of grown from a simple beginning to a still simple but better site. I will be expanding the site significantly and dedicating a lot of time to it. Why? Because I really appreciate the feedback I have been receiving from people that have commented on the site.
My motives were questioned in the past by some of the established commercial website owners. I was accused of trying to use their sites for my own commercial gain. I want to be clear on this point. I have not made one SINGLE dollar for this site, and when I first started the site, I did not think of it as a money making venture. I am an established IT professional, and while many of my comrades in the industry have suffered from the downturn in the field, I have done relatively well in that I have remained employed and I am paid well enough that the prospect of making money from a hair loss information site simply doesn’t compensate for what I am already making. Does this mean that I have no intentions of generating revenue from Morphollica.com? Not necessarily, but for now I am not actively seeking to make money from Morphollica.com. I may consider allowing only reputable companies with proven products to advertise here in the future to help offset the money I am paying out of pocket every month to keep the site going and I reserve the right to make money from this site in the future through ethical means. However, it amazes me though that some of the owners of the most prominent hair loss sites currently on the web, that run hair loss sites for a living have accused me of having less than noble intentions for this site.
Another point that I want to be clear on: Morphollica.com will always endeavor to provide the most honest and the most useful information for hair loss sufferers. I currently have limited content on this site, but as time permits I will be actively adding information and content to this site to help you figure out how to battle your hair loss, maintain your appearance, and most importantly, gain more confidence and self-esteem. Without question, the biggest payoff for me, the kick that I get from this site, is the knowledge that the information here may help you keep more hair. I know how much my self-confidence was eroded by hair loss. I don’t want anyone to feel like I did when I didn’t know what to do about it. Another boost I get from this site, is just watching it grow, piece by piece, bit by bit. It’s a good feeling.
I would like to ask a favor of you to help make this site better. If you’re reading this, and if you like the site (heck even if you don’t like the site for that matter!) use the forum. From the current participation level in the forums (as of 10-13-2003) it doesn’t look like it, but a fair number of you visit the site regulary and there is a significant number of new viewers every day. I get several emails a day from people asking various questions. If you ask the question in the forum, then you’ll help out many others who may have the same question as you. It will also motivate me to keep spending my hours in the library digging up useful nuggets of information for you.
